Willow Tree Program

The Willow Tree Program was created to offer light touch modalities and energy therapies to those in our community suffering the effects of cancer or other serious illness.  Discounted Treatments Based on Ability to Pay: Option 1: $15 a visit * Option 2: $30 a visit * Option 3: Full price ($60) for those financially able and willing to support our work. Willow Tree Program massage sessions offer light, comforting touch combined with energy work to support all aspects of the healing process. Modalities offered with the massage are CranioSacral Therapy, Hot Stone Therapy, Lymph Drainage, Reiki, Healing Touch, Intuitive Touch and Emotional Release techniques. Detoxifying Body Wraps are also available for an additional fee to cover the cost of supplies. It is important to understand that deep pressure massage can create complications for the client undergoing healing. These complications can include swelling and inflammation along with an increased sense of pain and discomfort. Your therapist will not provide any deep pressure work. Each client’s tolerance for massage pressure varies. As a precaution, your therapist will follow-up with you after each session to assess your reaction to the massage treatment. All therapists are certified, experienced practitioners who have come together to make this program possible. All sessions are given at the Massage Works Healing Center where massage rooms are serene, private and safe. Clients are asked to schedule appointments as much in advance as possible to assure they will be seen on a regular basis. It is understood that, from time to time, a client may not be up to keeping their appointment, in which case as much notice as possible is appreciated. We ask program participants to complete an intake form and provide us with a Doctors “Consent to Receive Massage” script prior to beginning the Program. Encouraging the Healing of Cancer: The fear that touch modalities will cause metastasis is no longer an issue in the oncology community. Science now understands this disease spreads due to genetic mutation, and not because of mechanical forces such as massage or exercise. It has been found that massage and bodywork can greatly benefit cancer patients. It reduces pain, anxiety and nausea, minimizing the side-effects of radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Systematic touch can help some people sleep better, temporarily decrease fevers, improve bowel function and decrease fatigue. It enhances body awareness and allows clients to direct more energy toward healing. To apply for The Willow Tree Program or for more details please contact the Center.
