Body-Work therapies affect muscle tissue by working with other systems and structures of the body.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST)
A gentle treatment that utilizes the brain, spinal cord and nervous system. It can release restrictions throughout the body, including the head, spine, muscles and organs. A deeply relaxing therapy that relieves pain and reduces stress in both the mind and body. Incredible and magical effects experienced by clients occur because of it's light touch and cellular altering capabilities. Clients may stay fully clothed for this therapy or can combine it with massage. CST is recommended for those who have experienced physical trauma, are in severe or chronic pain, are sensitive to touch or are uncomfortable receiving massage.

Manipulation of soft tissue to restore balance, relax muscles, soothe the nervous system and increase range of motion. It improves circulation and the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to cells and cleanses the tissue of metabolic waste. Therapeutic massage generally includes the entire body with special attention to areas of restriction.
Ashiatsu, sometimes known as a barefoot massage, is a deep compression massage modality. Utilizing the feet while suspended from a bar, ashiatsu therapists deliver deep pressure, gliding strokes, and assisted stretching while working with gravity. Ashiatsu means “foot pressure” in Japanese.
Lomi-Lomi - a Traditional Hawaiian Massage
The massage therapist makes use of the forearms and the hands in a fluid, rhythmic motion, massaging different parts of the body at the same time. This helps the client relax as the brain can't focus on two different areas at once. By not working on areas in isolation, a deep sense of stability and peace is achieved.
Outcome-based massage is primarily the application of a specific treatment targeted to the specific problem(s). The patient presents with a diagnosis and is administered treatment after a thorough assessment/evaluation by the medical massage therapist with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment.
Deep Tissue Massage
Focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue and physically breaks down adhesions that block circulation and cause pain, limited movement and inflammation. It releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas. Sometimes there can be stiffness or discomfort after a deep tissue massage that can be relieved thru the use of ice.
